October Hat
by: Sloane Rosenthal

The October Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. The hat begins with a provisional cast on, and then a deep knit 2, purl 2 ribbing is worked. An intricate, modern cable panel pattern is worked for the body of the hat and integrated decreases shape the crown.

Katie’s Kep
by Wilma Malcolmson

Katie’s Kep is named after my mother Katie, who taught me these patterns when I was a peerie lass because they were her favourites. She belonged to that large group of professional knitters, without whom our Shetland colour work and lace heritage might not have been as alive and vibrant as it is today. This is my tribute to all the known and unknown designer artists of Shetland throughout the centuries.

Cloudburst
by Arienne Grey

Made these for my therapist who’s retiring after Christmas. Figured fingerless mitts are something that doesn’t need a whole lot of fitting, and it’s something everyone can use. I might end up making a pair for myself as well.

Ikigai Cowl
by Breean Elyse Miller

This pattern was inspired by the Japanese concept of “Ikigai,” which represents a person’s reason for being. Roughly translated, Ikigai is “the happiness of always being busy.” We live in such a busy world these days. We’re always rushing from one thing to the next, attached to our devices, rarely taking the time we need and deserve to stop, breathe and notice all of the beauty and wonder that surrounds us each and every day.

Arboretum Cowl
by Campfire Knits

Welcome fall with this cozy, leaf-inspired cowl. If you knit looser than my gauge, you may want to either size down your needles, or use an additional main color skein. And there is enough contrast color left over to make a cute coordinating headband or hat!

Kiernan
by Kate Atherley

This is a layering piece, designed to be worn with a longer shirt underneath. The proportions are very deliberate: any longer and it would be a giant puffy unflattering box. I’m modelling it with about 10 inches of positive ease around my upper bust circumference; go bigger if you’d like, but either way I’d strongly advise against adding significant length.

Spadina Circle Pullover
by Julia Madill

Lose yourself in the oversized, cozy fit of this knit pullover that’s worked in the round, in one piece. This sweater boasts a ribbed funnel neck that radiates out to form the attractive yoke. The body and sleeves are stitched in the lofty/squishy shaker rib and simple increases. Since the garment is knit from the top down, body and sleeve lengths are a cinch to customize if creating as a gift. It’s a flattering style on most body types, so pattern is offered in a range of sizes.
