All of Briggs & Little yarns are made from 100% domestic Canadian wool that is milled, carded, dyed, and spun at their factory. With over 150 years of experience, Briggs & Little is one of Canada’s oldest millers. Their experience shines through in every skein they produce.
Started way back in 1857 in New Brunswick, Canada, Briggs and Little is a family run company operating a fully integrated mill producing Canadian pure wool spun yarns. All yarns are made in Canada from 100% domestic wool. The company’s focus on quality and values has allowed them to remain as one of the few vertical woolen mills in Canada and North America. They take the entire process from beginning to end, changing raw wool into wool spun yarns. This includes dying, spinning, blending, packaging and labelling all under one roof. You won’t be disappointed with the quality Briggs and Little yarns offer.
Butterfly Silk – Fingering – Wool and Silk
Butterfly Silk Fine Yarn is a true cottage industry. Dyeing takes place off the deck of her cottage at Round Lake, Ontario. Most of the yarn is 50/50 silk and merino but as of recently, merino sock yarn is now available in addition. This is beautiful, soft, uniquely coloured yarn with a gorgeous sheen. It’s a delight to work with and finished garments are one of a kind. Yarn is dyed in small batches for good colour saturation and multiple dye lots. As Barbara tells us “Life is too short to knit with itchy yarn.”
