Stranded Colourwork whether or not we call it Fair Isle, Icelandic or Norwegian, colour work in knitting means a whole lotta fun! Choosing patterns, motifs and a palette of beautiful shades are a vital aspect of what we call the ‘Satisfaction quotient’
Both process, and product knitters will enjoy the technical challenge of stranded knitting, and a beautiful finished product.

Ballston legwarmers
by: Lynn Nilges
These boot-toppers knit up quickly in sport weight yarn and are a fun way to add some color to a grey day. A chart is included for the argyle pattern. For the size large I used almost a full ball of the background color, about 3/4 ball for the pattern color and just a tiny bit of the bright contrast for embroidery. Enjoy!

Universal Yarn Channel Socks
by: Rachel Brockman
The ideal socks are snug, yet still cozy, and the Channel Socks fit the bill. These socks are knit in the round from the cuff-down with a heel flap and gusset. The leg of the sock features twisted ribbing that flows into the heel flap. The ribbing on the cuff is offset from the ribbing on the leg to create visual interest, and the foot of the sock is worked in stockinette stitch.

Fox Isle Socks
by Ksenia Naidyon
This sock pattern combines two amazing things – fair isle knitting and foxes! Can it get any better?
Ksenia Naidyon
The socks are really warm, as they are knitted with two strands of yarn. They were specially designed for long cozy evenings, when extra warmth is so much appreciated.
The socks are knitted from the top down with a fish lips kiss heel. Decreases are added at the transition to the ankle for a more comfortable fit.
